"All For the Kids" perform at the Give to Live Fundraiser
When Jack Kensil wasn't practicing with the lacrosse team this fall, you may have been able to find him practicing with "All For the Kids" a band he joined earlier this semester. A lifelong music lover, it was until recently that Kensil began exploring actually performing music in front of a live audience.
On Wednesday, November 15th, Kensil and the rest of "All For the Kids" performed at the Give to Live event held in the Cabaret on the Marist College campus. The event was a fundraiser put on by Marist students to help fund the research and treatment at St. Jude's Children Hospital.
As for what's more intimidating, taking the field against some of the best lacrosse players in the nation or taking the stage with a microphone, Kensil says "At this point the music is just a hobby so I try not to take it too seriously and I just want to have fun with it, but it was definitely a little nerve racking getting up there for the first time. I've been playing lacrosse my whole life so I have become very comfortable on the field no matter who I am facing."
"It was great to be a part of the fundraiser for such a good cause and I was happy to have the support of my friends and teammates who came out that night" said Kensil "It was fun for me to try something I have never done before and I hope we can be a part of more events like this in the future."
